Elopements and Small Gatherings
Over the years, elopements and small gatherings (aka microweddings) have gained popularity for many reasons. Some couples like the ease and quick timeframe of planning a more intimate ceremony. Getting married sooner rather than later is important to other couples. Some couples opt to elope or have a small gathering to get the legalities completed and then have another ceremony with a big party at a later date! However you envision your wedding day will be perfect for you, and I am here to help you “tie the knot” in the way that speaks to your heart and allows you to begin your married life together.
Marriage License info: Pennsylvania does not require witnesses, so it can be a true elopement with just the two of you. Your marriage license can be obtained in any county in PA. It will be valid for 60 days after a 3-day waiting period. For questions about the marriage license process, contact the county courthouse where you will be applying for your marriage license. Many counties have info on their website.
Fees and Timeframes: Short notice is available including the same day depending on the time. The stated fees are for ceremonies that are held during non-prime wedding times and in the Lancaster area. A travel fee applies if held outside of Lancaster. A prime-time event is available for an additional fee. If your gathering involves more than 40 people, please see the Weddings page.
Pre-Written Elopement $200
Are you looking for an elopement that is already beautifully written? If so, this is the way to go. You still have the option of a non-religious ceremony or to have a prayer included and whether you would like to state your own vows.
Customized Elopement $300
This is a customized ceremony with additional sections and many options for personalization.
Customized Small Gathering $400 (for up to 40 guests)
This ceremony is a lovely way to celebrate your wedding day with those closest to you.
